Why use the "Value Investor Tool"?

The Value Investor gives you another way to look at an investment. It approaches the investment decision from a business perspective and basically asks three questions that must be satisfied before you should consider purchasing a company.

The questions are:

  1. Does the company have a solid business history with years of uninterrupted earnings growth?
  2. Is the company well managed and have solid financing?
  3. At what price should you buy the company to insure that you have a reasonable expectation of earning the minimum return (E.g. 15% return) that you demand when investing your money?

The Value Investor Tool helps you answer the first two questions and more importantly, it provides a framework to help you decide when to buy, sell and hold a company to insure the maximum return on your investment.

To better understand the premise of investing from a business perspective, we suggest you read the book "Buffettology by Mary Buffett and David Clark". It provides an in-depth understanding of the concepts that the Value Investment Tool has been modeled after.
